Idealease Telematics: Driving Events Defined
Q: I see Hard Events (Cornering, Braking, Acceleration) on my scorecard. What triggers a hard event?
A: The telematics device has an accelerometer inside the device. When this accelerometer detects a .3g force movement forward, backward, or sideways, it triggers a hard event. Depending on the direction of the force, it will register as a Hard Brake, Hard Acceleration, or Hard Corner.
When working with a driver that has frequent hard events and you want to sit down with them, contact the Idealease representative who provided the scorecard for an activity report on that vehicle. The activity report will provide the location data on where the event happened and the speed in which it occurred, which is especially helpful when reviewing hard corner events.
