International HV Raises the Bar for Vocational Work Truck
New Carlisle, Ind. (September 17, 2024) – International® Truck debuted the redesigned HV™ Series equipped with the S13 Integrated Powertrain during a live event for industry press at the company’s Proving Grounds.
The revamped HV is fully supported through service contracts that provide greater productivity, efficiency and lower total cost of ownership for vocational fleets. Series production begins in the second half of 2025.
“The S13 Integrated Powertrain packaged with the redesigned HV delivers our best solutions for operational performance, fleet management, body integration and driver experience,” said Chad Conley, vice president, Work Truck. “And with the backing of our service contracts, customers will see we’ve simplified the ownership experience, so they can focus on the areas of their business that matter most.”
Performance
The redesigned HV Series is all about working smarter, combining legendary toughness with the most advanced integrated powertrain in its class to make hard work look easy. The S13 Integrated can help fleets boost productivity since they no longer need to stop work to perform active regens. And maintenance is simplified by eliminating components like the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler and diesel oxidation catalyst.
To help navigate tight job sites, the HV Series includes a sloped hood, panoramic wide windshield, and the two smooth and steady crawler gears of the T14 Automated Manual Transmission to haul even the heaviest loads with ease. Further performance upgrades include weight reduction and galvanized frame rails for superior anticorrosion protection.
Service contracts are available to provide comprehensive ownership solutions that simplify the entire vehicle ownership experience. Available for all International S13-powered products are backed by service contracts uniquely designed to meet individual customer needs. These solutions deliver everything from planned maintenance and proactive service planning to service event orchestration and complete vehicle coverage. Coupling these solutions with International’s extensive dealer network will ensure the new S13-powered HV is as productive and efficient as possible.
Integration
Through International’s best-in-class chassis electrical system, Diamond Logic and it’s expanded electronic control capabilities, customers will experience simplified and customizable body upfitting. Factory-installed power take-off (PTO) options and the integration of Bendix Wingman Fusion boost the safety and productivity of the vehicle. New remote power modules deliver more power and control through upgraded electronics and expanded input and output options. Additional integration enhancements include multiple mounting options for common components such as air tanks, air dryers, a more accessible fuel water separator and new options for tag and pusher axles.
“We took the workhorse of the International product line, modernized its appearance, and powered it with the industry’s most advanced powertrain,” said Andy Hanson, Vocational Marketing Director. “We also raised the bar when it comes to chassis and body integration by helping customers increase productivity and reduce equipment downtime.”
Driver Experience
To improve the overall driver experience, the new sloped hood design and LED headlamps help increase visibility. In addition, under hood lights assist with inspections in low-light environments, while an integrated fluid check in the driver display helps simplify the pre-trip inspection process.
Driver safety is enhanced, and fatigue minimized, by new side of cab steps to assist with ingress and egress. An easy-access, column-mounted shifter integrated with engine braking helps drivers keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the job.
“With these advancements, the International HV is poised to meet the demands of a robust vocational market, delivering reliability and performance that exceed expectations,” added Hanson.
