CVSA Announces Dates for Brake Safety Week

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) has scheduled this year’s Brake Safety

Week for August 24–30. This initiative is part of Brake Safety Awareness Month, which takes place throughout August.

During the annual enforcement event, roadside inspectors will:

  • Conduct North American Standard Inspections focused specifically on brake systems and components
  • Place additional emphasis this year on inspecting brake drums and rotors

CVSA will release a report on the results of this enforcement campaign later in the year.

Brake Safety Week is also a valuable opportunity for motor carriers to educate drivers and maintenance service providers on the importance of brake safety and regular inspections.
