C10 TESTIMONIALS

Cumberland International has taken a proactive approach to delivering industry-leading fuel economy by thinking outside the box. Their team developed the C10 truck, which has demonstrated some of the most impressive fuel economy results we have seen from any truck and engine combination in North America. In turn, these fuel economy improvements result in reduced carbon emissions from the diesel engines operated by the many Tennessee based fleets that have purchased this combination from Cumberland International. This project should be recognized for the significant environmental benefits generated in terms of lower diesel fuel consumption and reduced carbon emissions. We are very pleased to call them a partner and wish them continued success as they continue to strive for excellence on behalf of the trucking industry and our environment.

Watch this video from one of our Demo Driver’s, he provides some feedback on the C10.

Delivering Class 8 trucks with industry-leading fuel economy requires, among many things, thoughtful product specifications that are unique to the geography in which that vehicle operates. Cumberland International Trucks has made a bold commitment to lead in this space. They have partnered closely with our engineering team to ensure the trucks they sell deliver unprecedented fuel economy, reducing carbon consumption and improved operating costs for their customers. We applaud the efforts by Cumberland International Trucks to provide a greener, more efficient Class 8 truck to customers in the State of Tennessee.
— Jeff Sass, Navistar, Senior Vice President, North America Truck Sales & Marketing, President, IC Bus

The Cumberland International C10 Project is the first program in North America whereby a dealer has taken the most fuel efficient truck made by a truck manufacturer, rebranded it, and in the process made it substantially more fuel efficient before the point of sale. The C10 program has helped trucking companies in Tennessee to reduce fuel expenses and has cut overall fuel consumption by over a million gallons of diesel fuel to date. There are major win-win benefits to the environment and the economy that Tennessee is realizing by Cumberland’s C10 Program. Anything that the TDEC can do to acknowledge and support the commercial success of the C10 Program could only result in an even greater benefit to the State of Tennessee and the trucking industry.

Customers have been overwhelmed by product changes in the last 3-4 years; most of the changes bringing a level of complexity to the vehicles they do not understand how to leverage to their full potential. The sales team at Cumberland recognized this opportunity to introduce the International ProStar C10 Edition which packaged the most fuel efficient technology available into a vehicle that met the operational requirements of their customers. This wasn’t a one-time effort by the Cumberland team, as they continually consulted the International Performance Engineering team as well as resources from Cummins and Eaton to keep software, calibrations and parameter settings optimized for maximum fuel efficiency. Cumberland’s investment didn’t stop at purchasing the vehicle, they spent time training drivers on the features and how to get the best performance out of the vehicles so that each customer would experience its full capability and be more inclined to adopt the technology on future vehicle purchases. The results speak for themselves.

It has been a pleasure working with the Cumberland team. They span the gap between the OEM and the customer perfectly. Pushing us to improve and encouraging the customer to adopt. The data we have collected from the C10 has been used to shape the vehicles that International will produce in the future and has resulted in over 1000’s of C10 Editions being sold in the Cumberland International market.
Aaron Peterson, Navistar, Chief Performance Engineer – On Highway Tractor

I’m not your typical owner operator and one of the few left in this challenging industry. I went on a search to give myself a raise in an industry that saw rates plateau in the 80’s it’s seems. I found a truck spec , which, I thought was still in the future . The C10. It only took one quarter to realize the unbelievable fuel savings I observe with this truck! I can tell you for sure that going from 6.5 mpg to low 9’s means I have bought myself a minimum of 12 CPM raise! Easily saving more than my truck payment per month in fuel and also I have not had one single issue in 420k miles with this truck. Thanks to Matt and Patrick at Cumberland international for envisioning and making what I consider my dream truck a reality!!!!
Brandon Minick, 599 Logistics, Owner

Helping to drive safety, sustainability, and total lower cost of ownership for today’s commercial vehicle requires a carefully planned strategic mix of strong and effective technologies. The Cumberland International C10 Project reflects just that. By partnering closely with members of our business and engineering teams, the C10 Project has incorporated advanced Bendix active and supportive safety and braking system technologies that contribute to reducing fuel consumption via vehicle weight reduction, monitoring of real-time tire pressure data, and active cruise with braking functionality that can help drivers stay in fuel-efficient cruise control mode longer. We are pleased to support the efforts of Cumberland International Trucks to equip vehicles with the technologies and solutions needed to help support driver safety as well as sustainable mobility to customers in the State of Tennessee.
