Cumberland Represented in Navistar’s Top Teams Competition
Mobile Technician, Mike Sprague, out of Ocala, FL represented Cumberland at this years Top Team Competition in Orlando, FL this week.
The Top Team Competition was launched in 2023 at Navistar’s Service Solutions Expo in Grapevine, TX. The competition is designed to recognize technician excellence. 10 International Truck and IC Bus Master and Diamond Certified technicians from North America compete in a series of skills-based contests surrounding diagnostics, maintenance and repairs.
“Cumberland was honored and excited to have Mike representing us in this competition. The selection process is competitive to begin with,” says Jason Pitts, VP of Operations in Florida, “we were thrilled to have him up there.”
Technicians who competed in the Top Team Competition also had an opportunity to sit in round table discussions with Navistar leadership and provide feedback to elevate the experience for next years participants. With a goal of continuous improvement in mind, we’re always looking for opportunities.
Mike Sprague says, “If you’ve all-ready made the commitment to be Master Certified with Navistar they you’ve made the decision that this is more than a job…. it’s a career. The best things you can do for your career are to take initiative, stand out, and be a leader. Being accepted to the Top Team Competition demonstrates all those qualities. Get the most out of what your company offers, be the best you can be for yourself and be the best technician you can be for the customer! Being recognized as 1 of the top 10 techs in the country for Navistar comes with big time cash prizes, but the opportunity to sit and talk with top leadership who value your opinion and allow you to voice what could be done better is invaluable – so again if this is your career path, being part of Top Team is a great priority to have!”
