Marion County Gets 7 New Rescue Trucks
May 9, 2024: **MCFR Receives 7 New Rescue Trucks**
Marion County Fire Rescue received 7 new medic/rescue units in the past few weeks. These trucks are built by AEV of the REV Group and were paid by the Penny Sales Tax funds.
The new rescue units were purchased to replace aging equipment and will go into service on May 31, 2024.
Marion County Fire Chief James Banta stated, “Today, we’re thrilled to announce a significant upgrade to our fleet at MCFR. Welcome aboard to our 7 new ambulances, equipped and ready to serve our community with faster response times and advanced life-saving technology. Each addition represents our ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of our community.”
Each vehicle cost approximately $500K fully equipped and are expected to be a front-line service vehicle for approximately 5-6 years.
Since 2016, the Penny Sales Tax has funded roads, reduced traffic congestion, built new fire stations, reduced 911 response times, and improved animal control, law enforcement, and other public safety and transportation infrastructure in Marion County and its municipalities.
