In late April 2018, Dennis Vaughn, father to our very own Justin Vaughn (Cumberland Tractor & Equipment’s Rental Manager), fell 10-12 feet off his roof while checking for a leak. Dennis broke his L3 vertebra. The doctor’s fused L1-5. When we visited him in late May he was already walking. It’s truly a miracle!

Dennis and his wire Angela own Double V Farms in Franklin, Kentucky. Steve McCarley (Sales Manager at Cumberland Tractor) attends church with Dennis and Angela, along with Jeff and Austin Douglas. Jeff Douglas is one of Cumberland Tractor & Equipment’s customers and recently bought a New Holland RB560 baler. Jeff Douglas wanted to help the Vaughns and volunteered to bale hay since Dennis is recovering from back surgery and required to rest… Cumberland jumped at the chance to be involved in the Hay Day! Friends and neighbors gathered at Double V Farm in late May 2018 to wrangle 60 acres – baling a total of 140 bales by the end of the day.

Cumberland Tractor & Equipment provided lunch, manpower and equipment; with myself, Justin Vaughn, our technician, Jeb Stewart, and Steve McCarley in attendance. We provided a New Holland T4.75 tractor, a T4.100 and a WorkMaster 70, all with loaders. Justin and Steve raked, while others baled and stacked. Everyone near and far pitched in! Mark Stinson, a neighbor, came by with his equipment and tedded and baled. Jeff and Austin Douglas, brought their RB560 baler and baled all day! This was a great example of family, friends and neighbors coming together to get a job done and we are blessed to have had the opportunity to help the Vaughn family.
